Hungry Minds gets involved with Les Amis d'Elisa
Hungry Minds wanted to contribute to the Help49 citizens' initiative. The aim of this movement is to support the 49% of Belgian associations that have suffered a deterioration in their financial situation as a result of the health crisis.
Following an internal vote, the association "Les Amis d'Elisa" was selected by the agency's members.
This non-profit organisation, which is active within the paediatric services of the CHU UCL Namur (Sainte-Elisabeth site), has three objectives to improve the conditions of hospitalisation and the well-being of hospitalised children and their families:
- to develop the well-being of children (activities, living environment, etc.) ;
- to develop support for families (information, reception, etc.);
- developing the professional qualifications of its teams (training, equipment, reinforcements, etc.).
Hungry Minds heeft zich gefocust zich op de eerste doelstelling, namelijk het verbeteren van het welzijn van patiënten.
The agency focused on the first objective : improving the well-being of patients. In concrete terms, Hungry Minds created friendly little monsters which were then displayed in different areas of the paediatric wing: corridors, rooms, offices, waiting rooms, etc.
The aim is to put a smile on the children's faces throughout their convalescence. They also allow the medical staff to divert the attention of their little patients during certain interventions, or to simply explain the different stages of a treatment by referring to the characters.
